This is my sisters Sequoia. 2001
So not a lot of specific history.

Rear door exterior handle is broken.
Lift gate was not op-enable. I managed to get it open. not fun...I did remove most everything from inside the lift gate and removed the entire latch mechanism.
I have a second latch mechanism. Both have working lock actuators if i jump them with 12v.
Both mechanisms will show an open and closed ohm readings on the sensor depending on the position of the latch.
The window brake was not installed when i opened up the back of the lift gate.
The black lock cylinder was in the halfway position when i first got things opened up.

REAR WINDOW...
Window motor will go up and down if i directly jump it with 12v.
It will go down with the switch on he dash. But not up, even with tailgate shut.

We do not have a key fob.
I do have an Autel car scanner. The lift gate would not respond to direct commands to unlock or lock. And it would not respond to window open and close demands.

Questions....
i have read about possible wires breaking where they come out of the vehicle. There is a big wire connector halfway down the lift gate. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this so i can look for a lock and window signal before it gets down to the module ?

My best guess Is a module failure. . But this part is the least readily available. I do have a 2005 complete lift gate. But the wires going into the connector are very different .

HELP....
