I’ve had to replace the back bumper trailer panel 3 times. This is a design issue problem with no fix according to Toyota Headquarters. Th panel falls off when using the car wash.

No fix I was told it’s a design issue.

I had an issue with mine the 2nd week I owned it. I was getting ready to load my trailer. I tried to pull on the cover. It wouldn't budge. So, I opened up the owner's manual. All the owner's manual mentioned were the 10 clips that are around the edges of the panel. It mentioned nothing about the 2 plastic rivets under the bumper that need to come off. lol I ripped that sucker right off of the bumper. I mentioned what happened to the dealer. They got me a new one at their expense. I assume you would be safe to reuse the plastic rivets as a way to reinforce against losing it again. Good luck.
