Hi I am new to the forum and was hoping to find someone who has had similar problems with the suspension system on the Sequoia Platinum. I bought the car used in 2020 with 60, 000 miles. My mechanic said it looked like new. I use it as a tow car for my 5000 lb campler with 500 lb tongue weight which is well under the Sequoia's 7000 lb towing capacity with 700 lb tongue weight.

Recently the suspension has started to behave strangely whether I'm towing or not. For example, I was sitting in the car with the engine running so I could keep warm while using my PC while camping and the air bag compressor kept cycling on and off. This is normal while driving/towing to keep the car level but shouldn't happen while sitting unless there is a leak in the airbags which there isn't since I left the car in the garage for 5 days after returning from our camping trip and it was perfectly level.

Another strange quirk happened when I hooked up to the camper this last trip. The compressor always comes on to level the car rear/trailer tongue but didn't this time. I turned the car off and tried again but still no compressor. We checked the fuses and they were fine. In desperation I started the car again and the compressor came on finally. It lifted the rear so that the car and trailer appeared more level but the rear tires did not appear to be as far from their rims as the front tires. I was afraid to stop for gas in case it happened again but instead it came on and lifted the rear even further so that the rear tires appeared further from the rims than the front tires.

A final quirk: The up/down switch was erratic as well during this camping trip. At one point I could go to low but not hi. At another I could go to hi but now low.

The suspension has worked fine ever since the trip. My mechanic was unable to duplicate any of these issues. If its not fuses and not a leak in the air bags what could it be? He says the wiring looks good. And he doesn't think its the computer. He thinks it might a faulty relay or a faulty compressor. Does anyone have an ideas or similar experiences?

Sorry to be so wordy!
