Disable 4WD in 2007 Sequoia?

I’ve installed a new actuator, but I was Just driving along in 2wd and the 4hi and diff lol lights started flashing without being touched. My truck is now stuck in 4Hi, and sounds like the whole front end is coming apart when I turn the wheel slightly. I got it home and my question is, can the 4WD system be disabled?

Take the cover off the actuator and turn the gear inside. Turning it to the limit in one direction or the other will get it back into 2WD(may require rocking the truck back and forth), once its in 2WD, disconnect the actuator.
