2027 Toyota Sequoia Revealed with Updated Styling, New Trailhunter Package and More Technology

Toyota has announced a series of updates for the 2027 Sequoia, including refreshed exterior styling, upgraded technology, Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 and an all-new Trailhunter package.

The new Trailhunter package is based on the SR5 and adds factory-installed overlanding equipment, including:

• Old Man Emu upgraded suspension
• Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R18 tires
• Bronze-colored wheels and exclusive badging
• Front recovery hooks
• Additional underbody protection
• Locking rear differential
• Multi-Terrain Select
• Crawl Control

The TRD Pro also receives several upgrades for 2027, including new Sequoia-tuned FOX QS3 adjustable shocks, standard red tow hooks and an eye-catching new Honeycomb exterior color.

Inside, every 2027 Sequoia will come standard with a 14-inch multimedia display featuring Toyota’s latest interface and AT&T 5G connectivity. Other technology upgrades include an available enhanced Digital Key and a built-in Drive Recorder that can use the vehicle’s exterior cameras to capture 20-second video clips.

Additional updates include:

• Redesigned front fascia, grille and bumpers
• Brighter grille-mounted LED light bar
• Available RIGID fog lights
• Toyota Safety Sense 4.0
• Available 2.4-kW inverter
• SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro and Capstone grades

Toyota says complete specifications and pricing will be announced closer to the start of production in fall 2026.

That redesigned front end is not an upgrade. When they released the first pictures of the Gen3 a few years ago, I immediately loved the vehicle, especially the front end. The redesign looks like they smashed part of a LC250 onto it. Not a fan at all. Making the Sequoia resemble a larger LC250 is not going to increase sales. You might not be able to extrapolate exactly, I know many people who won't buy a Sequoia because of the lack of usable storage. Maybe try increasing that and you'd sell more vehicles. The below photo exemplifies what the Sequoia's front end should look like.
