2003 Sequoia driver lock switch

Hey guys I’m new here and I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but I have a problem with my driver side door lock switch. The button only functions when the car is on or the battery is on. Have you guys had this issue before or know how to fix that? Thank you guys! I just got this sequoia a few weeks ago so I don’t know much about them yet

You mean you have to have the key in the ignition and in the ACC or ON position for the lock switch to operate? I would probably start with by checking the fuses. Not sure how the switch is wired exactly but my guess is you have a blown fuse that provides power when the system is off. There is a large black box on the driver side engine compartment with fuses as well as a the small panel near your knee/foot area to check.
